i think there would be 60 kids total. what i did was i knew that 24 girls=2/5 so i divided 24 by 2 which meant 1/5 equaled twelve.i want to know how many kids there are, so i did 12x5 which equaled 60. Iris
in all there are 24 girls, and 2/5 of a group were girls, i knew that 24 had to be equvilent to 2/5, so i did 24 times 5=120.divided by 10, because 2 times 5=10. that gives me 12, then i multiply by 2= 24. back where i started but now i know one of the possible ways to get 24, iwth 2/5 so then i multiply 12 by 5 because 120 times10= 1200 times 2=2400, then divide by 0.4(2divided by 5 = 0.4)=6000. and then 6000 dividede by 100 because 120(24x5) -24=96+4 0.4 x 10(2x5)=4, and 96+4= 100.so the final answer would be 60.
There are 60 children in the group.I know this because if 2/5 is 24 so one out of 5 is 12. 12x5=60.40% are girls and the other 60% are boys there are 36 boys and 24 girls.......................KA........KA........KA
There would be 60 people in the group. I know this because 1/5 is 12 people. I know that because 2/5 is 24, and 24 divided by two is 12. 3/5 of the class is boys, so 3 times 12 is 36. 36 plus 24 is 60
There are 60 children in the group. I know this because 1/5 of 60 is 12, making 2/5 of 60 24. 5/5(all the children) - 24(all the girls) = 36. So the number of boy is 36.
There are 60 children in the group because 1/5 of the group is 12 and 12x5=60. I found out 1/5 = 12 because 24 is 2/5 and 12 is half of that and 1/5 is half of 2/5.
There are 60 kids in total. I know this because 2/5 of the children were girls and there were 24 girls. So 2/5 of the group is 24. The whole group is one whole which is equal to 5/5 so 5/5-2/5= 3/5. To find what 3/5 is in kids I needed to find out how much 1/5 was. If 2/5 was 24, then divided 24 by 2 just as you would to 2/5 to get 1/5. 24 divided by 2 is 12. There is still 3/5 of the group left (who are boys) to find out so I times 12 by 3 to get 36. Then I took the # of girls (24) and the # of boys (36) and added them to get 60. Therefore there are 60 children in all. ~KATTY~ P.S. I also just realized another way to figure it out if you knew what 1/5 was (12) you could times that by 5 (one whole=5/5) to get 60. :)
I really hopes this works because the last couple of times it hasnt been. So, first you have to find out what 1/5 is. To do this, you have to do 24(the number of girls)/ 2(in this case 24 adn 2 are equivalent fractions with the different denominators). You get 12. So, now you know that 12 is 1/5. Then you have to multiply 12x5 to get the whole (5/5) (because we already know that 1/5 is 12). Your answer is 60. So there are a total 60 kids. So ya, im pretty sure everyone got the same answer...
Weeell... This one ISN'T as straight forward as the last one sooo... What I did was divide 24 by 5 which is obviously a decimal. That decimal is 4.8 and 4.8 is about 5 peeps so... well you should get the point. I didn't put 4.8 because A: We're talkin about PEOPLE here and B: That it's illegal and gruesome to split a person in 5 parts.XP
The first thing that I do is, since 2/5 = 24, if I divided it by 2, then it would give me 1/5th. Since 24/2 = 12, then 12 = 1/5. To get 1 whole (5/5) then I multiply 12 by 5. (12 x 5 = 60) There are 60 children in that group.
I think there are 60 children in such group. My reasons for this: 2/5 = 24. I cannot do 24 x 2 because that leves my 1 5th short. So I try to find 1/5 by dividing 24 in half. That makes 12. I do 12 x 5 to find the number of kids. That's my answer, sorry it's so confusing. :) Bye
ugh again srry ms. d for missin it but again dis is real simple so i hope ya count it, plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz nywayz the answer is 60 kids, this is cuz 24 divided by 2 is 12 right? so then thats 2/5s so then 3 5ths left, we kno 1 5th is 12 so thn do 36 ( 3 more fifths) and ya get 60 :) l8er :)

I think that there were 60 children in the group because we know that 24 is 2/5 so 24x2=48=one half of 24 which is twelve= 60

ReplyDeletewell i know 5x12=60 because...
ReplyDelete24 divied by two is 12
but since its 2/5 is 24 one out of five must be 12
1/5= 12
1/5+1/5+1/5+1/5+1/5 or 5x12= 60
There are 60 children in the group. I know this because 1/5 of 60 is 12, making 2/5 of 60 24. 5/5(all the children) - 24(all the girls) = 36. So the number of boy is 36.

ReplyDelete-Jojo still the greatest
The answer is 60 children. 2/5*24/x. x=(5*24)/2. x=60.
ReplyDeletedont you know that lower case x equals times.... not *
ReplyDeletewell if there is 2 fifths, divide 24 by 2, multiply the awnser (12) by 5.

ReplyDelete24÷2=12
there would be 12 children in each group.
